Default Help! I've been having anal pain and anal drainage since receiving an Ostomy

during surgery for Colon Cancer. I started taking Lyrica a week ago and it seems to be helping with the pain. I am also using an electric heating pain on my seat cushion. Any other suggestions? Hydrocodine Bitartrate/Acetaminophen 7.5 mg/500 did not help.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had a the same thing in 1989 and it took a while for me to heal, too. Lyrica is great.
Ask your doctor if you can take something like Oxycontin. It's stronger than the Hydrocodone and it's extended release will help you from having break-through pain. Or a Fentanyl patch. You wear it for 3 days then put on another one. There are many options out there for your pain.
As far as the drainage....you need to talk to you doctor about that.

sorry but you need to tell your doctor. Looks like he is aware and you want other suggestions but the right answer would be from your doc and not someone off the computer.

I think that you should see your doctor. My niece had colon, bowel and anal cancer five years ago. She has a permanent colostomy and has many problems with the "bag". She is always in and out of the hospital and will be for the rest of her life. The only way she can take care of her recurring problems is by seeing her doctor, and she has many. I am very sorry that you have such a problem, and I wish you all the best. I see what my niece is going through, so I imagine you have some of the same problems. I hope you see your doctor soon, and God bless you.
