Brain cancer, like any cancer, is a malfunction at the cellular level. Cells grow out of control due to defects in genes in the DNA. It takes multiple defects (mutations) in the DNA to cause cancer. Some of the mutations are hereditary, but this alone is usually not enough to cause cancer - but it can make it more likely.

I don't think that brain cancer is very common, and isn't heredity genetic? Because your heredity determines your genes, so it would be both, right?
