I wouldn't worry about it.
The danger isn't the chips, their far too large to be a concern. The danger would be if you were say, sanding the ceiling and causing a fine dust or mist.
When asbestos is in a fine powder form, it can be inhaled and that's where the danger comes in. Keep the ceilings painted, that holds the fibers in place.
If you plan on renovating or tearing out the ceilings, than I'd hire a professional to do the demolition work.
