Default I have been exposed to asbestos, should i be worried?

About 4 years ago I was exposed and I have only just found out. I'm concerned because what I have read, symptoms for poisoning sometimes may not show for many years. What should I do? Is there anything I can do? Is it worth going to the doctor?
The asbestos I was exposed to was disrupted, I was doing renovations on a friend's house and we were practically pulling walls apart.
