Default Asbestos risk?

At our school it is rather poor, and on a few walls there is a section where pupils have knocked or banged and the walls have cracked and split etc. I was in a classroom earlier when i noticed a brake off in the wall and there was white powder stuff in it. Now i have no idea wether it was plaster or asbestos or what it was as the school is very old...?
Lmao i asked a teaching assistant about it, and she said she wasn't sure so she went up to it, rubbed he rifnger on it and then sniffed her finger!. GOOD IDEA!.

I have been through this on a building we did security for. There are different types of asbestos, Blue, Brown white and i think Yellow. Asbestos is only dangerous if it is disturbed and if you think it has then see a doctor, I went to the doctors and had a chest Xray and a Spirometry which test the lung capacity, It came back clear but Asbestos kicks in, in about 10-15 years time.

The building needs to be tested to see if the asbestos is airborne and the test will also state the level of asbestos. UKAS in England do the tests. Good Luck

If this does turn out to be asbestos the school would need to closed whilst it was removed.

It cannot be asbestos, it is plaster which is dried which is used to bind bricks. Asbestos is not used to build walls.
