I have recently gotten results from my bloodwork back and my bad cholesterol was a little high, everything else was fine except my liver showed elevated function. almost a year ago i got pain in my right side under my breast and some in my back. and i have gotten the pain a couple weeks ago and thats it..could it just be nothing with the elevated function..i am so worried and scared. i have two little girls, i dont see the dr until tomorrow.

It's hard to answer this question without your medical background, but as a hep c educator and one who knows that elevated liver enzymes may be a sign of hepatitis C, you should talk to your doctor about getting tested for hep A, B, and C. I don't know if you've had any of the risk factors, but if you have, even only one time, then you should get tested. Risk factors are blood transfusions before '92, tattoos, piercings, IV drug use (even if only once), snorting drugs, sharing razors or toothbrushes, military & medical exposure to blood, dialysis, pnuematic vaccinations (military), & risky sex (MSM, anal, or kinky where blood is involved). did you have any alcohol in the 48 hours prior to the blood test. That could be the cause.
