Default Can the Bone Cancer recur again after enough no. of Chemo-theraopy were given? My...

...5th therapy is on 9-1-08?
I was operated for Prostate second time in Dec. '05. Because of Cancer, the testees were removed. Medicines were given, In April '07, my PSA was 0.95. In Sept. I felt very bad, weakness, loss of wt. 5 Kg. in a month, no appetite for food. Fatigue, illness and no mood. Reports were taken. PSA came to be 92.92 ! Doctor was consulted, and he stopped the medicine Calutide meant for Cancer. Bone scannin and CT Scan were taken. Bone cancer was confirmed. A little little was spread into skull, Rib, Spine, Long Bones, and Pelvis. Imediate Chemo-Therapy was started. No pain. My fifth is on 9th Jan.'08. a Total of six have been suggested. Now I am feeling qute fine. First Therapy was on 18-10-07, and then every 21st day. Getting good appetite, taking a lot of Fluid, liquid and proper food also. Wt. is also increased. PSA also came down to 20.76!
If I get better, say for 3 to 4 years or so, are there chances of Cancer recurring again? What Precautions needed?

The fact that your cancer has spread to so many different areas already is not a good sign. Once cancer gets into your bones it can enter your blood stream and pretty much go anywhere it wants. However, chemo is very good at doing its job. It is very possible that this last treatment of chemo could put your cancer into remission. Hope that helped and goodluck!

All cancers have a chance of recurring but some have a greater rate and others have less of a chance. Depending on your specifics of your individual cancer and how you responded to treatment it will depend on how great of a risk you are for recurrence. Talk to your oncologist about your worries and what are the likely hood of a cure rate for you. Take care and god bless.
