A relative of Mine has had thyroiditis and initial testing says she has High T3, T4 but low TSH. She also has a benign Nodule. I told her to wait for the TSH antibody test results and not go for the Radio Iodine Uptake test yet because of it's sideeffects. She could just have Grave's disease which could be diagnosed from the Antibody test!
Am i wrong, since cancer is only found in very rare cases? Are their other Non radio active tests to rule out Thyroid cancer?
She is 32, has no bad habits: non smoker, non drinker, vegetarian. She's had a child!

Iodine-131 is there in very small amount everywhere where Iodine is available in soil, water, vegetation & animal meats. Normal Iodine other than I -131 is not harmful at all. Only I-131 is cancerous which is there in nature by less than even 0,1 % of normal Iodine. it is human metabolism variation or some zone where water etc are very bad that it enters the body & remain entrapped in big amount causing cancer which is only an accident but that too is curable completely in initial stages.
