Hi.. My sister was dignosed on 7/20.. she has finished her radiation and chemo... she did not get sick at all or lose her hair thanks to the new drugs out there. I am taking off work to go to the drs with her to get the results of everything. She had a mri yesterday and the dr. just called her and told her there is a mass/leison on the liver and needs her to get a PET scan tomorrow ... no later then friday.... is this my first sign that things are going bad? she has not been sick or felt bad (cept for tired) and has really felt better since she lost some weight. i know the end result is not good.... i would just like some words of wisdom from anyone that has or is going through this with a loved one. thanks to all ....

It depends..
Offhand it doesn't sound good because odds are that the liver has had imagery before that didn't show this and that this is something new.
However, odd spots on the liver aren't always a sign of trouble. My liver seems to have what is known as a hemangioma and /or lesions / cysts. It was noticed on my first cat scan about 5 years ago after a cancer diagnosis. A few high field magnet MRI's later and we all figured it was ok.
I think that cysts on the liver can come and go.
